Avignon
Bomsori and Jean-Paul Gasparian in concert
Thursday 16 May 2024 at 7.30 pm.
Event at Avignon :
Bomsori and Jean-Paul Gasparian perform works by Beethoven, Brahms and Szymanowski.
Korean violinist Bomsori and French pianist Jean-Paul Gasparian perform works by Beethoven, Brahms and Szymanowski!
The concert begins with Beethoven' highly poetic Sonata n°5 for violin and piano, light and delicate. Then come the powerful chords of Brahms' Sonata n°3 for violin and piano. The two virtuosos wrap up the evening with Nocturne and Tarentella by Karol Szymanowski. Though the first part of this work may be slow and almost sensual, the second part, inspired by tarentella, the fast-paced dances with their roots in southern Italy, creates sharp contrast in this atypical composition.
Program
Beethoven Sonata n°5 'Spring' for violin and piano
Brahms Sonata n°3 for violin and piano
Szymanowski Nocturne and Tarantella
