The Marceau Constantin museum SAINT-CHRISTOL

From 15th June to 1st October. Open Wednesday to Sunday and public holidays, 3-6pm. Self-guided tours. Guided tours available throughout the year – booking required. The museum plays homage to a renowned international artist in an impressive retrospective that reflects the artist’s own vision.

Marceau Constantin, who was originally from Saint-Christol, built a successful career in France. He was an authorized transcriber for the Louvre and National Museums and his work has been exhibited all over the world. A visit to the Marceau Constantin Museum provides a unique artistic experience in a rural setting. This municipal contemporary art museum, built in 2009, contains 200 works and utilizes a new, creative 3D technique, “le Bout’Art.” Using a French/English audioguide, you can find out about this artist through his work, spanning over seven decades, as well as his life in Paris-Montparnasse, Provence, and the world over. The diversity of subjects and variety of techniques used makes this a truly exceptional fine art collection. The different techniques include: drawings, paintings, ceramics, illustrations, silk screen printing and gilt ceramics. Drop in and spend a hour or two listening to Marceau Constantin’s commentaries on his own work. Open all year round by appointment: +33 (0)6 84 37 96 76. Price: 2 Euros/adult; free entry for under 18s.
La Provence à Vélo partner; special welcome reserved for cyclists.
