The tourist service at Caderousse :
Leave the small village of Caderousse by a temporary Via Rhôna trail that leads to the peaks of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards before entering Avignon."
The route climbs up around 1 km and crosses through hillside vineyards affording beautiful views over the Rhone Valley. After Sorgues and as far as Pontet, the 3.5-km route through industrial and commercial areas demands more vigilance until the greenway running along the canals, at the entrance to Avignon, a stunning way in to the former City of the Popes.
If you have children in tow, it may be easier to take the train from Sorgues or Orange to Avignon.
