Mountain-biking itinerary – Hill-top trails above the Aiguebrun River

ITINERARY: (470m) Start from the yellow ‘Buoux’ sign opposite the fountain. Take the little road that also serves as the GR9 which climbs up in the direction of Bonnieux and the chapel, continue on the GR in the direction of Apt. Slightly further on, do not miss the road which goes down on the left. It comes out on a small road by the Ferme du Jas. Turn on the left and go down this road for approximately 500 m. (1: 426 m – 2.1 km ) After crossing a bridge, you arrive at a crossroads (yellow sign ‘Château de Buoux‘). Take the road on the left in the direction of Buoux. At the foot of the château (unfortunately not open for visits), turn right to take another road (sign ‘Sentier de randonnée balisé‘). At the yellow ‘Bosquet’ sign, continue straight direction ‘Les Escoufines’. This road, pratically flat, overlooks the Aiguebrun river canyons and comes out at the entrance to Buoux on the D113. Continue straight up to the sign ‘ Les Escoufines ‘. (2: 466 m – 5.6 km) Follow le yellow and red markings and go down on the right in the direction of Sivergues. After re-crossing the D113, go up toward the Bastide de Deyme , then take a little path and follow it to the yellow sign ‘Les Ramades ‘ . (3: 520 m – 7.2 km) From there, you can do a little round-trip on the trail on the right (in the direction of Sivergues) up to the top of the cliffs. Admire the superb view over the Buoux cliffs. Come back to the trail by the same itinerary. Go right to follow the GR9 direction ‘Chante Duc‘. Slightly farther, turn on the left in the direction of Buoux. Go down on a small road to the D113. Turn on the left to enter the village.
Info on the surroundings: you may well meet herds or flocks near the Ferme du Jas, slow down and take care not to frighten the animals.

This circuit is short and very pleasant, just right for a family outing. Here you will discover beautiful sites and landscapes. You’ll go near the Sainte-Marie chapel before reaching Buoux château. From there you will easily reach the top of the famous Buoux cliffs, which provide breathtaking views.
